Bilingual Master of
Laws

is a joint programme with the Law Faculty of the University of Basel. It combines language skills and legal knowledge and enables students to obtain a degree from two Swiss universities. Students enrol either in Geneva or Basel and take courses at both universities (min. 30 ECTS credits from each).

Bilingual curriculum is available in the following programmes:

Admission Conditions

A Bachelor of Law from a Swiss university or an equivalent foreign law degree.

Deadline for Fall Semester for candidates that hold a foreign bachelor's degree: 28 February 2024
(30 April 2024 for candidates that hold a Swiss bachelor's degree at the start of the next academic year AND, according to their nationality, are not subject to a visa for entry into Switzerland for more than 90 days, according to Swiss government requirements and regardless of their current place of residence, or for candidates holding a Swiss residence permit that is valid beyond 30 April.)

Dissertation and seminar (22 credits)

The dissertation is written as part of a seminar; however, students may write their dissertation outside the seminar (16 credits) and supplement it with an additional elective (6 credits).
